Last week, Whitecroft took centre stage as a triple finalist in the Department for Education's Regional Apprenticeship and Skills Awards 2024 North West, showcasing the team’s incredible homegrown talent.
Amongst the nominations was the North West Large Apprenticeship Employer of the Year Award, recognising Whitecroft's dedication to upskilling our team and our strong investment in creating social value.
However, the real stars of the show were two of our rising apprentices, Project Sales Engineer, James Crisp and Content Creator Apprentice, Elliot Davey, both recognised as North West finalists for the Apprentice of the Year Award.
Although they narrowly missed out on the top spot, Elliot, who is thriving in our marketing team, earned a well-deserved Highly Commended recognition.
Held at The Midland Hotel in Manchester, the prestigious awards ceremony celebrated the region's diverse talent, uniting the best and brightest. As well as highlighting the achievements of T Level students and skills champions, it also recognised top-tier employers across the North West of England.
Warren Young, our Learning & Development Officer, said: "This has been an incredible win for our apprentices and the entire team. Reaching the National Apprenticeship Awards regional final is a huge achievement, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we've accomplished together. I can’t wait to see what 2025 will bring. Nurturing the next generation of industry leaders is at the heart of what we do, and this recognition means a lot to our entire team. Both James and Elliot did us proud."
After only being with the business for a short period of time, both apprentices have flourished. James has made a strong impact in the South West salesforce, while Elliot has hit the ground running in the marketing department, quickly proving himself as a valued member of the team.
Following the event, Elliot said: "Whitecroft has been an amazing place to learn and grow. From day one, I’ve felt fully supported by both my mentors and colleagues, and I’ve gained so much valuable hands-on experience.
Whitecroft’s commitment to my development has already allowed me to think about my future with the business and where I aspire to grow within my career; most importantly thinking about my journey to get there."
