We have won a prestigious Environmental Award from BAM UK & Ireland, one of the UK’s leading construction and facilities management firms, at the company’s annual Western Supply Chain Awards in Bristol.

The award was presented to Tony Male, Whitecroft’s Regional Sales Manager for South West and Wales, and the regional team that includes James Crisp, Darren Langlois, Tony Parsons, Martin Hill and Tim Crosby.

BAM’s award is in recognition of our ongoing investment in sustainability, which is helping to reduce all types of carbon in its lighting products and business practices.

The Environmental Award also highlights our commitment to aligning environmental practices with our strategic partners, such as BAM.

Designed to deliver a range of benefits through harmonising values, practices and principles, strategic partnerships allow for a deepening level of understanding and collaboration between us and our customers.

Keith Traharne, Procurement Manager at BAM said: “Whitecroft has worked closely with BAM for many years, and over this time we have held many discussions on how we can reduce carbon and improve our sustainability performance.

“Whitecroft has reimagined its products based on the need to reduce waste, carbon and packaging, and this aligns with BAM’s sustainability ambitions.

“This is a good example of how our clients’ needs are met or exceeded through collaboration in the supply chain.”

Tony Male said: “I would like to thank Adam Wyllie and Keith Treharne and everyone at BAM for recognising the work Whitecroft is doing around sustainability.

“We can only tackle issues like carbon reduction and promoting business circularity if we take the market with us, and BAM has been a much-valued partner in this area.”

Amanda Rushby, Head of Strategic Partnering at Whitecroft Lighting, said: “BAM is one of a number of customers that have entered strategic partnerships with Whitecroft Lighting in recent years, promoting alignment and consistent good practice.

“This can include harmonising approaches in key areas, such as whole-life carbon targets, waste reduction, circularity, safety and supply chain welfare, allowing both parties to build on a shared foundation.

“This award is valuable recognition that we are on the right track, and is very much appreciated.”

We have worked with BAM on a number of projects in the South West and Wales, including the marquee Temple Quay House project in Bristol, Exmouth Community College and Ysgol Gyfun Gwent Is Coed School in South Wales.
