On the 25th of September, Whitecroft Lighting proudly celebrated the graduation of 14 dedicated apprentices, who successfully completed their Level 3 and Level 5 qualifications through our valued partners, Nine Dots and Tameside College.
A triple finalist in the Department for Education's Regional Apprenticeship and Skills Awards 2024 North West; we believe apprenticeships are more than just a learning pathway—they are integral to the future of our business. Whether by upskilling our existing team through Levels 3 to 6 programmes or providing school-leavers with invaluable career opportunities, our apprenticeship programmes lay the foundations for long-term growth and innovation.
Our apprentices contribute so much more than just fresh skills—they bring energy, the latest industry trends, and innovative ideas. Their journey with us sparks cross-departmental collaboration, with new knowledge shared across our wider teams, helping us stay agile and forward-thinking. This commitment to collaboration and growth is central to our ethos of being committed together.
Each year, we honour our apprentices' achievements at a special ceremony at our headquarters. This event is a moment for us to reflect on their hard work and dedication, remaining true to our value to aim higher.
This year, our 14 graduates achieved qualifications in a range of fields, including Operational Departmental Management, Engineering Technicians, Leadership and Management, and Graduate Sales Engineers. Their success is a testament to the hard work and tenacity shown by each.
The Whitecroft Apprentice of the Year award was shared by Elliot Davey, L3 Content Creator and James Crisp, L4 Sales Executive. The scores have been compiled against a broad criteria, scored by each of the apprentice's line managers and the training provider for their apprenticeship programme.
We aren’t finished there, however—the learning journey continues for many others within our company. We currently have 10 active apprentices pursuing qualifications in areas such as Marketing, Engineering, Management, and Supply Chain, to name a few.
