In 2018 Whitecroft Lighting worked with a major high street fashion retailer and Fagerhult Spain to deliver a number of completely bespoke luminous ceilings creating beautiful ambient light and a stunning feature.  

Seeking an alternative to their current solution the client's brief was for a slim line and sleek solution which would give the effect of an illuminated ceiling while also being easy to install and maintain.

To meet the project requirements Whitecroft designed a completely bespoke lighting solution which not only works well in the retail environment but would also complement areas including receptions, feature areas and atriums.

The main focus was to create a slim line solution which would give the effect of a luminous ceiling while also delivering adequate ambient light to the store. The result was an entirely bespoke solution developed by Whitecroft’s in house Bespoke Products design team. The team developed a slim edge lit flat panel in three varying sizes which when mounted in groups create the spectacular luminous ceiling effect bringing the space to life.

Following a successful initial installation of 30 luminaires, additional 380 pieces were requested for Spanish and French stores. The solution has been also implemented in a new chain of high end department stores in the United Kingdom.
